About Me

Hello, my name is Yiannis. I am a software engineer based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. My professional experience has largely been within a consulting environment, where I’ve worked across multiple clients and projects. Through this, I’ve gained experience in a variety of areas, ranging from developing and managing PowerShell data validation scripts to working in DevOps as an engineer. My primary focus has been within the Microsoft ecosystem, with hands-on experience across Azure DevOps, Azure Cloud, and related technologies.

Outside of my professional work, my passion lies in creative visual design and art. I spend much of my downtime exploring different forms of visual expression, whether through video media or conceptual creative work. By connecting my technical background with my creativity, I enjoy experimenting with creative development, computer graphics, and animation.

To stay active and outdoors, I spend most of the warmer months in Calgary skateboarding. Skateboarding has been a central part of my life for over 20 years and has been one of my biggest influences, shaping everything from culture to fashion. As a Canadian, I also find ways to embrace the colder winters, with hobbies that include hockey and skiing. I participated in organized hockey for 18 years, holding leadership roles through to my final season in 2022.

I also enjoy traveling and backpacking through new cities and countries. I’ve completed two backpacking trips across Europe and recently traveled through Japan and South Korea. My love for travel has also inspired me to complete my Greek citizenship paperwork, opening up the opportunity to work in a new country.

Portfolio

Built with Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, this portfolio combines my professional experience, projects, and visual work into one interactive site. Chrome spine piece uses Three.js, custom GLTF model and scroll linked motion. Other video visual effects use TouchDesigner.

Crypto Coin Creator

I helped design and build a fee-based desktop and Chrome extension application for ultra-fast Solana token launches across multiple platforms including Pump, Bonk, and Bags. The system used a Chrome extension connected to a local desktop bridge to enable low-latency launches and automated create + buy workflows using Solana web3.js and adapter-specific SDKs. Features included wallet and RPC management, fee-sharing validation, hotkeys, structured logging, image and clipboard automation tools, and a workflow-focused UI optimized for speed and rapid execution.

Computer Graphics

Computer graphics coursework with a focus on core graphics fundamentals. The coursework covered mesh modeling, subdivisions, parametric curves, and surfaces. Assignments explored coordinate systems, affine transformations, and viewing pipelines, with later work touching on rendering topics such as shading models and ray tracing. Projects were developed in C++ using OpenGL with GLFW for rendering and interactive user input, and were later built on through a computer animation course.

PORTFOLIO

In progress responsive portfolio website that I am building alonside creative director, Kayden Livingstone using Next.js, TypeScript, CSS Modules, and Three.js. The site features custom typography, editorial layouts, interactive project sections, and 3D artwork previews, deployed with Azure Static Web Apps. Click the title to view the current status of the site.

Azure Fundamentals

Completed and earned the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification. The course covered cloud concepts, Azure architecture and services, and management and governance, with an emphasis on understanding compute, networking, and storage options, cost management, security, and how resources are organized and managed within Azure.

Mobile Page

Magazine created using InDesign, Photoshop, and GIMP. It features photos taken throughout 2025 by me and friends, ranging from being in New York for an Arc’teryx event and capturing the street art culture, to slowing down and relaxing on the island of Naxos. It is a collection of my favourite moments through the year. I printed the magazine and shared it with friends who were featured in it.
